What is Benevity?
Benevity is workplace giving software that large companies license to run employee donations, gift matching, volunteering and corporate grants. Nonprofits do not buy Benevity. They join its Causes Portal for free, which lets employees of Benevity’s corporate clients donate to them, volunteer with them and send them grants.
If you receive a donation “through Benevity,” it came from an employee giving through their employer’s program. Registering in the Causes Portal lets you build a profile, see and manage those donations, and appear when employees search for causes to support.
Benevity reviews every nonprofit for eligibility and compliance before accepting it, and re-checks organizations periodically against its terms of use and eligibility guidelines. A nonprofit can register itself or be nominated by a corporate client.
Getting started
Register at the Causes Portal, complete your profile and bank details, and wait for the eligibility review. Then check that your profile name and mission match how employees would search for you. Questions about fees on disbursements should go to Benevity’s nonprofit help center, which we could not review.
Best For
Best for nonprofits that receive, or want to receive, donations and volunteers through corporate employee giving programs. It is not a tool you buy for your own fundraising; it is a free channel you register for.

Cost and access
Free for nonprofits: Benevity says it is free to register, build a profile and receive donations. Companies pay to license the platform. We could not confirm whether any fees are deducted from donations before they reach the nonprofit; check Benevity's nonprofit help center.
Eligibility and availability
Benevity says it is open to nonprofits of all sizes and completes an eligibility and compliance review before accepting one. Its eligibility guidelines document was not available when we checked, so confirm current requirements and country coverage when you register.
