What is Bonterra?

Bonterra is a software company for nonprofits, foundations, companies and government agencies. It was formed in 2021 from a merger of several companies, and it sells its tools under separate product names, so the first step is working out which Bonterra product you are looking at.

For nonprofits, the main products are Network for Good (fundraising, which Bonterra describes as built for small nonprofits), EveryAction (CRM, fundraising and advocacy for mid-sized to large nonprofits) and Apricot (case management for nonprofits and public agencies). Bonterra also sells event and peer-to-peer fundraising tools, and in October 2025 it announced it had acquired OneCause.

Two parts are free for nonprofits. Nonprofit Hub is free to join, with no subscription or credit card, and includes grant matching from grants.gov and a grant workspace; a Grant Intelligence upgrade costs $99 a month or $999 a year. Deed Engage, Bonterra’s workplace giving platform, lets nonprofits claim a free profile so employees of client companies can donate and volunteer.

Getting started

Decide which job you need done (donations, donor CRM, case management or grant research), then go to that product’s page. Most Bonterra products are priced by quote, so ask for a quote based on your contact count and the features you need. Nonprofit Hub is the low-commitment way to try Bonterra first.

Best For

Best for nonprofits that want fundraising, CRM, case management or grant research from one vendor, and for small nonprofits looking at Network for Good. EveryAction is aimed at mid-sized to large organizations. Because most pricing is by quote, plan time for sales conversations.

How It Fits

Learning curve
Each product has its own interface, so ease depends on which one you choose. Ask for a demo of the specific product.
Setup timeVaries by product
Nonprofit Hub can start the same day. A CRM or case management system needs data migration, configuration and staff training.
Organization sizeSmall to large, by product
Network for Good is aimed at small nonprofits; EveryAction at mid-sized to enterprise organizations.
Technical skillLow to moderate
Fundraising forms are staff-friendly; a CRM or case management rollout needs someone to own data, imports and integrations.

Cost and access

Most Bonterra products are paid and priced by quote. Free options: Nonprofit Hub (no subscription or credit card) and a Deed Engage nonprofit profile. Network for Good's Free and Essentials plans keep a 3% platform fee on donations; the Intelligence plan removes it.

Eligibility and availability

Deed Engage supports U.S. 501(c)(3), (c)(4), (c)(6) and (c)(19) organizations, government entities and public schools, and 501(c)(3)-equivalent organizations abroad; you find your organization by EIN. Nonprofit Hub's grant matching draws on grants.gov, which lists U.S. federal grants.

Information on nonprofit discounts, pricing, eligibility, and program availability can change. Always confirm details directly on the official website before applying or purchasing.
